Mental Health Awareness Month

Hello,

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. We want to shine a light on mental illness in our community, this year for Mental Health Awareness Month, The Ryan Joiner Foundation is partnering with NAMI Hall and United Way of Hall County to encourage various businesses to “Go Green for Mental Health". Green is the color of mental health awareness.

We are working to contact all businesses along Green Street in Gainesville, GA, we are trying to create a visual show of support for Mental Health Awareness on this corridor. We are letting businesses know that should they wish to participate, they can do so in several ways:

The Ryan Joiner Foundation is funding the purchase of green floodlights, which businesses can use the entire month of May or just the evenings of May 17 (the day prior to Mental Health Action Day) or May 18 (Mental Health Action Day) to light up their business green at night for Mental Health Awareness Month. We can also provide yard signs for businesses that wish to show support.

If you own a business that would like to participate in "Going Green for Mental Health", please contact us at [email redacted] or (770) [phone redacted].

You can also participate by showing your support by wearing a green ribbon or putting a Green Ribbon on your mailbox during the month of May and posting it on your social media accounts. Tag The Ryan Joiner Foundation so we can reshare!
(We are now on Facebook and Instagram!)

This is just one of the ways we are visibly trying to raise awareness during May. Already, NGMC (Gainesville and Braselton), Mellow Mushroom, Norton, Spa on Green St., SGL Wealth Management, and others have said they want to participate in this specific effort to “Go Green for Mental Health.”.

Thank you!

Lauren Joiner Paul
